Weathered steel (Corten) billboard

AIP contracted the build of this billboard in close collaboration with Royal IHC. The LED screens are powered by a nearby solar field. To reflect the sustainable ambition of the billboard, the structure is fully fabricated from weathered steel which requires minimal maintenance.

The Voronoi Billboard stands as a testament to innovative design and sustainable technology in the region of Assen. Crafted from weathered steel (Corten), this striking billboard is not only visually captivating but also eco-conscious, reflecting the contemporary needs of urban media.

Partnering closely with Royal IHC, AIP undertook the fabrication and construction of this unique structure. The billboard features advanced LED screens powered by a nearby solar field, underscoring our commitment to sustainability and renewable energy sources. This thoughtful integration allows the billboard to operate independently while minimizing its carbon footprint.

The use of weathered steel ensures that the structure requires minimal maintenance over time, allowing it to harmonize seamlessly with its environment even as it ages gracefully. Designed by architect JW Leugs and engineered by Bartels & Van Dijk FEM, the Voronoi Billboard not only serves as an effective advertising medium but also as an artful addition to the landscape, blending beauty with functionality in a sustainable package.

This project highlights AIP's dedication to delivering innovative solutions that prioritize environmental responsibility while enhancing urban spaces.
