Observation tower of weathered steel (Corten)
The Weusthag Tower stands as a 35-meter observation structure, elegantly rising above the picturesque landscape of Hengelo. Crafted from weathered Corten steel, the tower’s design captures the essence of its natural surroundings, seamlessly integrating rustic beauty with modern architectural elegance. Its oxidized surface not only evokes a sense of timelessness but also enhances durability, making it an enduring landmark for generations to enjoy.
An innovative foundation design supports this slender tower, allowing it to rise gracefully without overwhelming its environment. The foundation, meticulously engineered, ensures stability while minimizing ecological disruption, creating a harmonious balance between the built environment and nature.
The tower's slender silhouette ascends into the sky, inviting visitors to ascend and embrace panoramic views of the lush greenery and vibrant scenery that surrounds it. IAA’s vision, coupled with AIP’s commitment to quality construction, transforms the Weusthag Tower into not just an observation point but a symbol of architectural expression and environmental awareness.
